The blueberry is certainly having a moment. Not only is it full of Vitamin C and rich in antioxidants, but it happens to be delicious in just about every way it's served. So grab your fellow blueberry lovers and enjoy the freshest you can find in Cherokee, NC. You can also fill up on baked goods, treat your youngest blueberry fans to special activities, participate in the day’s culinary competitions, and enjoy plenty of family entertainment. Sponsored by the North American Indian Women’s Association (NAIWA). This event is free to the public.
ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE:
9 a.m.: Concession stand and vendors open
Blueberry pancake breakfast
Huckleberry/blueberry-inspired dishes submitted for judging
Huckleberry/blueberry nutritional and cultural values materials
10 a.m.: Children’s activities (indoor) until 2 p.m.
11 a.m.: Community entertainment
1 p.m.: Judging for youth and adult categories:
Huckleberry/blueberry (must include recipes)
2 p.m.: Prizes awarded for the best huckleberry/blueberry dishes
