Description
The Jackson County Public Library is partnering with WCU's History Department to present a program about the 19th Amendment. Some of the topics covered will be the background of the amendment, the race for ratification between North Carolina and Tennessee, famous figures of the movement, and the after effects of the 19th Amendment. This will be the first programming surrounding the 19th Amendment presented at the library. Throughout the next two years, we will be having multiple programs celebrating women and the centennial of their right to vote. This event to co-sponsored by the Friends of the Jackson County Public Library.
