On Friday, Aug. 16, the series welcomes the band Mama Danger to the stage. Mama Danger is a contemporary acoustic string ensemble that explores the dynamic realms of all sorts of acoustic music. Based out of Asheville, N.C., band members Gabriela Rose: banjo, guitar and Nick Cameron: mandolin, specialize in Folk, Bluegrass, Newgrass, and Mountain Jazz.
The band is influenced by such groups as the Punch Brothers, Avett Brothers, Mumford & Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show, Lowland Hum, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Nickel Creek, I'm With Her, and Mandolin Orange.
Held from 7-9 p.m. every Friday from Memorial Day through Labor Day at the Bridge Park in Sylva, these FREE, family-friendly events are organized by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Sylva and the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department. Bring a chair or blanket. Donations are greatly appreciated. The featured food vendors for this concert are South of Philly and Little Jimmy's Italian Ice.
