CALLING ALL CATAMOUNTS! It's time to grab your running or walking shoes and lace 'em up for the Catamount Virtual 5K/10K/Fun Run. Homecoming was set to be October 3rd, but due to COVID-19, we're bringing the 'Whee to you. Grab your purple and gold and, get active!
Participants can register for the following races:
- 1-mile run/walk for the family and kids
- 5K run/walk
- 10K run/walk
The best part is participants chose to run when and where they can between the dates of Friday, October 2nd
- Sunday, October 4th
Catamount Virtual 5K Cost Breakdown
: $40 per participant
: Downloadable customizable race bib (will be emailed prior to race week) Catamount Virtual Fun Run t-shirt, face covering, finishers certificate and a finisher medal**
: $6 for individual, $14 for groups packaging of 3- 4.
**Participants that sign-up after September 18th
will not be eligible to receive a finishers medal.
WCU Athletics encourages each runner to track their progress throughout their training and race using the hashtag #WheeRun. Challenge friends and family members to join in on the Catamount fun!
WCU Athletics will send a registration packet to all participants via email before Race Week.
Registration packets will include information about how to participate, as well as a customized digital race bib and a link to a Spotify playlist created for the race.
Additionally, each participant will be assigned to a team led by one of our WCU Catamount coaches. Details will be included in the registration packet emailed to participants.
Proceeds from the Catamount Virtual 5K will go to benefit student-athlete scholarships at WCU.
