A Message From the Director

Jackson County is a great place to visit. It's an even better place to live. As the old hymn says, "There is beauty all around." Beauty in the mountain ranges, in the fertile valleys, in meandering streams and rushing waterfalls. Beauty, too, in the people who live here, friendly people who lift a hand in a neighborly wave as you pass them on the road, who answer questions about the area with native courtesy and quiet dignity. And beauty in the professional people who help you if they know an easier way to do things or a way that might save you time and money.

Jackson County is an old-fashioned kind of place. That means a place where people still care about each other, where the cost of living hasn't gone out of sight, and folks still can leave their doors unlocked. But JacksonCounty has sophistication, too: a variety of cultural activities, a state university and a community college, access to first-rate health care, andmany other benefits.

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, whose mission is to advance the general welfare and prosperity of the Jackson County area so that its business community shall benefit, encourages you to use this website as ameans to reach local businesses. If you already are a resident here, we encourage you to shop at home, keeping resources in our area. If you are considering relocation to our county, we hope this website demonstrates toyou the strength of our business community. The Chamber works toward the betterment of the community and will endeavor to improve the economic, civic, environmental, cultural, industrial and educational interests of thearea. Welcome to Jackson County. We're glad to have you as a neighbor, or a visitor!
