The Blue Ridge Parkway, often called "America's Most Scenic Road," travels
469 miles from the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia to the Great Smoky
Mountains National Park in North Carolina. This "sanctuary of high places"
reaches its highest and some of its most remote spots in Jackson County.
Access the Parkway at Balsam Gap, the intersection with N.C. 215 Northeast
of Cashiers, at Soco Gap in Haywood County, or at the Parkway's terminus in
Cherokee.
